Mountain Bike Emergency Action
This course is tailored for Mountain Bikers to cover essential lifesaving techniques, especially dealing with casualties safely, systematically and sympathetically in the first few minutes of the more remote incident on or off the trail. The course certificate qualifies you to the requirements of the HSE Appointed Person in the work place (so maybe your employer will pay for you to attend?)
First Aid for The Outdoor Environment
The outdoor environment nearly always means that the casualty has to be looked after for a longer timescale than is typical in a more urban setting. All of our Outdoor First Aid courses look at how to manage the situation when the ambulance does not turn up within 10 minutes, and are appropriate if your work or leisure place is remote. No previous First Aid knowledge is needed.

1 day / 4 x 2 hour course
Delivery
Experienced professional trainers with an active professional interest in First Aid training. The trainers delivering this course will typically have a professional background in outdoor developmental work or be active practitioners in their own leisure time, with experience and commitment to working with groups in the outdoor environment.
Company owner Rupert has been able to draw on his experience as Chief Marshall for the National Points series (2005 and 2006) whilst working for Martyn Salt of Inevent and XCRacer.com. This experience has been passed on fellow Bear Training Team members.

* Vital Signs – breathing, level of consciousness, temperature, colour
* Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents
* Airway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse
* Breathing Problems - choking
* Circulation Problems – Internal bleeding, external bleeding and treatment for shock
* Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
* Making the most of your mountain bike and equipment in first aid
* Awareness of current regulations
* Safe best practice

Revalidation
