This course covers essential lifesaving techniques, especially dealing with casualties safely, systematically and sympathetically in the first few minutes of the more remote incident.
Typically outdoor instructors working within centre grounds or on 'controlled' sites take this award as a minimum standard of duty of care. The course is also very popular with Trainee and assistant instructors starting out on their career.
The outdoor environment nearly always means that the casualty has to be looked after for a longer timescale than is typical in a more urban setting. All of our Outdoor First Aid courses look at how to manage the situation when the ambulance does not turn up within 10 minutes, and are appropriate if your work or leisure place is remote. No previous First Aid knowledge is needed.
This course is to be found upon the National Database of Approved Qualifications (NDAQ), the Learning Aims Database (LAD) and may be eligible for Learning Skills Council (LSC) funding. J/500/4375
