Appointed Person course
This is a lifesaver course, giving participants essential lifesaving emergency techniques. This course covers the needs of the 'Appointed Person', tailored to your workplace. Suitable for low risk workplaces, (offices, shops, pubs) split sites or shift operations where a nominated person will deal with emergency incidents.
These courses cover the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner. Ideal for Appointed Persons and anyone who is required to take charge at an incident. No previous First Aid knowledge needed.
Course Duration
4 hour intensive and 6 hour (Same content, more time to practice)
Delivery
Experienced professional trainers with an active professional interest in First Aid training, coming from a variety of working backgrounds understanding the specific needs of various environments. Our trainers are constantly updating their methods and materials, keeping abreast of current best practice from around the world. Trainers typically have knowledge of your workplace and follow Health and Safety approved code of practice guidelines.
Course content

* Resuscitation procedures including choking

* Vital Signs – breathing, level of consciousness, temperature, colour
* Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents
* Airway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse
* Breathing Problems - choking
* Circulation Problems – Internal bleeding, external bleeding and treatment for shock
* Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) – Adult, heart attack, urban
* Awareness of current regulations
* Safe best practice

* A recognised certificate valid for 3 years
Revalidation
This certificate is revalidated by attending another Emergency Action course in 3 years time.
