Bear Training First Aid

About Us

First of all, why the name Bear Training...? Well the owner of the company is called Rupert (Rupert the bear)

Ruperts skills, and Bear Training have evolved over a long period of time in almost every sector of the Outdoor Industry. Through this time we have worked with a cross section of people and society, not only in the UK but also across the globe. These experiences have given Bear Training a depth of character, which allows us to provide personable, friendly and helpful services to all.

Not only is our training fun and enjoyable, it is hands on and jargon free. It is also safe, simple and gives a systematic approach to dealing with a potentially stressful situation in First Aid and Outdoor Training.

Our first aid courses are assessed on a continuous basis, by our trainers, and also participants. All of our trainees play an active roll in the first aid scenarios, reviewing each other as they go. This also allows them to increase their experience.

Assessment also takes in the use of protocol sheets, while the 4-day courses have a formal written exam. Courses are delivered for both urban and remote contexts. The courses can be delivered in various time slots from 2hr, 4hr, half and full days depending on needs.

ITC recognition

Bear Training deliver ITC First Aid courses which meet with the National Qualifications Framework, ITC First Aid Ltd.

ITC is an awarding body recognised by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA). As such, Immediate Temporary Care (ITC) has the HSE approval number 1670/96.

Although the HSE only approve and monitor 'First Aid at Work' training courses, many institutions requiring some form of first aid training will use this approval number to recognise the competency of a certificating body for various other sectors of first aid training.
